The 2008 Johnson County Power Camp had 51 young athletes in attendance, all ready to GET FOCUSED on Christ and on their sports. For the first time ever, camp included skateboarding, instructed by the national director of FCA Skateboarding, Nate Giaratanno, and lacrosse grew in popularity with the kids. And, as always, soccer and basketball were strongly attended, and walk in registrations took place every day! An abundance of quality staff members and volunteers assured that each camper received affirmation and encouragement in his or her faith journey.
This year’s highlights included over twenty campers making decisions for Christ after a day full of powerful messages about DESTINATION. What a thrill! FCA Power Camps are designed to reach kids ages 8-12 with the powerful message of the gospel, cultivating Christ-like competitors from an early age. “God showed up big time,” said camp director and Johnson County Area Representative Drew Mathews. “I was deeply humbled to be the director of the camp, and I give all the praise to God for giving us an awesome week!”
