The Spring Kansas FCA Conference drew 751 campers (787 total coaches and athletes) to Rock Springs, Kansas last weekend, April 5-6. Included in the crowd were over 35 KC Area campers, two KC area staff members serving as volunteers, Jill Ewert, Senior Editor of FCA’s Sharing the Victory magazine and three of FCA-KC’s summer 2008 SALT Interns. Over 70 college students from Kansas City and the state of Kansas served as Huddle Leaders, leading, loving and sharing with Huddles of 8-10 campers.
Throughout the weekend, campers experienced Huddle time, competitions, tesimonies, worship and gospel messages, all with the theme “Game Ready” based on Ephesians 6:11. Over 230 dedicated or rededicated their lives to Christ—Praise the Lord! As they were sent home on Sunday morning, speaker and pastor Jeff Hiers expressed what all of us at FCA felt, telling the campers, “I see greatness in you!” He encouraged them to use their greatness as Jesus did, to serve those around them in humility and in the power of the Holy Spirit.
FCA’s influence goes beyond the boundaries of the Kansas City Area, and we work as a team within our region to serve, challenge and encourage coaches and athletes in their spiritual walk. To learn more about FCA activities in the region, visit www.ksfca.org or www.arkansasfca.org
