FCA Staffer Russ Street on Jonathan: Jonathan is a fighter. He actively pursues the follow-through of vision and work to cast that vision to those around him, while always keeping Christ at the center of his heart.
Coach Leslie Dickherber on Jonathan Hunter: Jonathan possesses a continuous positive attitude that is contagious and very Christ-like. His strong leadership attracts others which leads them on the Christian faith journey.
FCA: What has God taught you through leading FCA?
JH: FCA at Smithville High School has been a unique experience. I have lead it my junior and senior year. My senior year is where I am at now, and people are gaining a passion. God has used me to develop a leadership team to spread responsibilities around in order to have a greater impact. The greatest thing I have learned is what an impact I can have on people just my speaking about what God has put on my heart.
FCA: What does it mean to be a Christian competitor?
JH: Being a Christian competitor gives me the ability to know who I am truly competing for. I have a focus and goal. The focus to be an influential light for Christ through my actions and the goal is to give God the glory through all circumstances.
FCA: What advice would you give to your Christian peers about staying strong in their faith?
JH: Life is always going to throw curve balls at you. I face challenges just like any other athlete. Sometimes those challenges beat me down, but the way I deal with them is by getting right back up again. Christ never said following him would be easy, but he did say we will be blessed with a reward in heaven.
