New Multi-Area Director for Kansas City: Mark Gassman
FCA-KC is pleased to announce that Mark Gassman, former Senior Vice President of FCA Field Ministries, will be joining the staff team as the new Multi-Area Director for Kansas City and the state of Missouri.  Mark joins a team that is anxious to benefit from his leadership and experience.

“I interviewed 139 possible candidates over the past year,” shares Regional Director Ralph Stewart.  “And God did not lift up any to fill this calling.  Mark is from Kansas City, a former high school and college coach, and has 24 years in senior FCA leadership.  His name was all over this opportunity once God clearly called him.”

God’s call was evident to Mark after months of prayer and rounds of formal and informal interviews with both Stewart and members of the FCA-KC Board.  “I couldn’t be more excited,” says Mark. “I love Kansas City, I grew up here, and I couldn’t be more excited about the existing team.  I’m looking forward to being more hands on with the ministry, staff, boards, coaches and volunteers.”

Mark grew up in Lathrop, Missouri and now resides in Harrisonville.  At age 15, he attended his first FCA camp at William Jewell College.  He is a Kansas City enthusiast who, during his 24 year tenure with FCA senior leadership, has always taken a keen interest in the FCA-KC ministry and cared about the coaches and athletes in the area.  “There are a lot of coaches and a lot of athletes in Kansas City,” Mark shares.  “The opportunity is huge.”

As Senior Vice President of FCA Field Ministries, Mark oversaw the 800 plus FCA field staff in approximately 350 offices around the country.  Prior to joining the FCA team, he coached football, basketball and track in Kansas City and later football at his alma mater, Central Methodist College (now Central Methodist University).  He also worked for five years at New York Life as an agent and sales manager.

“Needless to say, there are many things that Mark brings to the table,” says FCA-KC Director of Campus and Camps Bill Stutz.  “He is a prayer warrior, and he has a passion to reach the sports community with the gospel.  It’s going to be very exciting to see what God is going to do in the future with the FCA ministry in and around Kansas City.”
