At every sporting event, one of the most valued teammates never calls a play, touches the ball or even sets foot on the field. Yet their enthusiastic support and readiness to participate can influence the players and ultimately, the outcome of the game. In football, that teammate is known as the Twelfth Man in the stands. The mere presence of the twelfth Man can have a profound impact; it pushes the players on the field to even greater performances.
FCA-Metro Kansas City is in a daily competition to impact athletes and coaches for Jesus Christ. Our opponent wants us to believe that the challenges and obstacles are too great. But we know that having a strong Twelfth Man on the team will energize us to keep on “fighting the good fight.”
When you help someone who is spreading the Gospel, you are truly partnering in the ministry. As teammates, we are united by the same goals of Victory in Jesus Christ.
FCA-Metro KC’s goal is to add 3,000 new Twelfth Man supporters to the team. Their commitment to the ministry through prayer and giving is extremely valuable to our mission and vision. We need you to join the team!
FCA-Metro Kansas City is a faith-funded ministry that strives to see the world impacted for Jesus Christ through the influence of athletes and coaches. We accomplish this through the 4 C’s of Ministry: Coaches, Campus, Camps and Community.
Coaches: We are committed to helping coaches understand, embrace and fulfill the calling they’ve been given to impact generations for eternity. We build relationships with coaches and connect them to Bible study/support groups that use FCA’s discipleship materials. We have initiated relationships with coaches at nearly 100 campuses.
Campus: FCA ministers to coaches and athletes on campuses through Huddles, chaplaincy, team Bible studies and more. We train, equip and encourage these leaders to do ministry. We are represented on junior high, high school and college campuses throughout the city.
Camps: FCA Camps are a time of “inspiration and perspiration.” Every summer, various FCA Camps are available for students ages 8-18, and over 1,000 campers attend each year. Camps vary from Sports Camps to Leadership Camps to Church Partnership Camps.
Community: FCA’s community ministry connects the ministry to businesses, churches and individuals to foster relationships that lead to volunteering and support for FCA. We encourage this through speaking engagements, outreach opportunities, golf tournaments, luncheons, dinners and personal meetings.
